League Calendar Year Begins On Thursday
JACKSONVILLE, FL – The National Gridiron League (NGL) today announced that its official league calendar will commence on Thursday, August 8th. This marks a significant step for the league as it establishes a consistent starting point for its annual operations for the league and all member teams.
Going forward, the second Thursday of August this year and August 8th for following years will serve as the official beginning of the NGL calendar year. This standardized date will provide a clear framework for teams and players to plan and execute their seasons.
“We are excited to implement this new calendar structure,” stated Joe E. McClendon III. “By establishing a fixed starting point, we aim to enhance operational efficiency, improve planning, and create a more structured environment for our teams and players.”
With the new calendar year in place, all player and coach contracts, as well as any associated bonuses, must be officially paid out by the following league calendar start date. This provision ensures financial accountability and stability within the league.
As the NGL continues to elevate its status as a premier football league, adopting a consistent calendar year is a testament to its dedication to operational excellence and the overall enhancement of the player and fan experience.
